Jeez!
Just wondering wether anybody has a contact at microsoft.
My house was burgled last week and in the robbery my xbox 360 was stolen and the prick that stole it has rung xbox and registered it under his name. Microsoft have his name, address and phone number but have refused to give these details to me(which is fair as I would remove his hands) but have also refused to give these details to the New Zealand police as it is a privacy issue. Does anybody here have a contact at microsoft that I could make contact with in order to recover my property?
Microsoft aiding and abiding criminals??? Who would have thought…
The more I was thinking about this, the more hypocritical it makes Microsoft sound.
They pour probably millions of dollars into their anti-piracy campaign, but it won’t release the name of a thief to Police???
It’s totally screwed. It it were me this happened to, I’d be sending this story to online IT Tabloid “The Register”.
The headline “Microsoft encouraging theft of Xboxes by Home Invasion” will will probably result in a pretty quick release of information by MS to the NZ Police.
So to email the reg with your story: news@theregister.co.uk
To report that your Xbox was stolen by pirates: piracy@microsoft.com
I agree do it this week when they are promoting all the great security features of vista…
Yesterday afternoon microsoft nz approached me with an offer to pay my insurance, I am unisured so they then offered a replacement consol and some games. Not because they are scared of bad publicity but because I am a valued customer and they want to keep me using microsoft products, I agreed to this last night but today I rang and told them to piss off and it would take more than a consol and two games to keeep me happy. This is a crap offer because I lost more than what they offeed in the burglary, and since they have sent him a new power cable they do have a name and physical address. so I would recover mty gear anyway. He wouldn’t even give me his details on the sly.
These people have burgled dozens of houses in the past few mouths in Mt Vic so there are other people that can be helped by this information. If they think that Im going to let some prick get away with breaking into my house, going through my stuff, taking all my toys, stealing all my booze and leaving a big unflushed dump in our toilet they are dreaming. I am going to be the biggest pain in the ass microsoft have ever seen.
So essentially M$ are saying its okay to steal – or at least that there are no consequences for stealing… yay!!! lets starting sharing illegal copies of Vista :)
I just received this:
On friday the NZ police issued microsoft with a court order to get the name of the person who registered my xbox with microsoft and ordered a new power cord. This person has been arrested and is currently sitting in a cell at Wellington central police station, he has been charged with counts of recieving stolen goods but has denied taking part in the burglary. I am unsue at this stage if any of my belongings have been recovered. I’ll give futher developments when I get them.

You have to ask yourself, who is the victim here. The clue is its not Microsoft.
I started out tonight just trying to contact Microsoft!
