Typical

What a crazy weekend. Amber and I went down to CHCH for Chris and Mel’s wedding. It was really cool, we caught up with Vaughan and Carina. Jerry let us stay at his place as he was away in WGTN. Vaughan was awesome; he picked us up, he drove us around, he took us to the place where we picked up the rental car, he hooked up the rental car, he introduced us to his kids, he took us to the Museum, and the Art Gallery. My god there was some crap art there - Modern rubbish. We played spacies, and ate Lebonise Kebabs. Amber bought a Mountain Dew.

We were lucky to get the rental car because my Drivers License was expired and had been for over a year, normally this would mean a complete resit however the lady had a soft spot for us and we only had to do the eye test. And boy do I need glasses, apparently it was painful to watch. I can imagine as I was calling out numbers when there were only letters. It’s not my fault the H looked like a 4!!!

The wedding was great, everybody had a great time.

Because so many shitty things have happened recently I’m making a list for your pleasure

  • My car was broken into while I was in Melbourne
  • I bumped into another car and had to pay to have the dent fixed
  • My car was towed by some fuck at the office
  • I ran out of gas last night and had to get it filled
  • And there is bound to be more

OK thats me signing off…

Good Times

Well I’m out of the g33hfl4t and living with Simon. Simon’s house is very nice, very minimalist, very simple, very clean, very usable. It is almost like the architects were reading alistapart.com/usability articles during the design process! I think the only shortcoming is that it isn’t very well sound proofed - and that is not a biggie, at least not for me.

I would have stayed at the geek flat but I couldn’t stand the mess any longer! RIP 107 Grant Road.

Amber and I are travelling well. We are going to Chris and Mel’s wedding this weekend, we are staying at Jerry’s and will be hanging out with Vaughan. I’m really looking forward to it!

I came third place in a competition (taiwan nz biz grant) this week. It was a little sad not winning but I’ll just try even harder next year. I am suppose I am happy + grateful that I even made it as far as I did!

Last night in Geek Flat

This is it. The end of an era, Bravo team we’re moving out!!! It is friday night, I am recovering from a few days of the flu, I am almost packed, (need more boxes of course) I have played Doom 3, I have hung with guys, Listened to mp3’s and now I am about to hit the hey. What is most disturbing about right now is… God knows where Amber is!

The geek.flat has been fun. There have been moments. Normaly when I loose my cool over dishes or something, but it has been mostly damn fine. Game nights, playing Porta Rico, LOTR, or RISK. Eating Pizza, watching DVD’s, The guys having people over on Sunday Mornings, and all that other flat stuff. It’s been a blast!!!

I am moving into Brooklyn. Into my friend Simons place. Should be fun. Will keep ya’ll posted!!!

incommunicado

At the time of writing, I was in the Melbourne Uni IT room with Amber. The computers are fine but the connection doesn’t seem to allow out going ssh connections. This is of course very frustrating when you know that it means I cant login to any computers to check my email back home in the land of the long white cloud. Amber is studying hard…she is such a good girl. :) I think she thinks I am checking out someone. Though this may be true, I am still far more interested in the not being able to read my email bit!!!

Yesterday we went to see the Impressionists at the National Gallery of Victoria, after we went to see ‘the cat returns’. Another fine Studio Ghibli film. Kevin and Charlotte are really nice and easy to get on with. Kevin is a laugh and a half - we both like having the police force armed and ready to kill, of course this would be even better if the police were trained to take out knees as opposed to chests. Amber and I went to the Zoo. I have been enjoying the Coffee scene and all the odd little cafes, up odd little side streets. All up Melbourne is a blast and I’d gladly come again!!!
