Alfred, Kylie, and myself ended up tramping to Sayer Hut. It’s an old Deer Hunters Hut in the Tararuas. It’s very old, shabby, but has a ton of character. We veered off the track a few times because the track wasnt well defined or maintained. A lot of the markers were left by trampers and hunters - old bits of ribbon, and tape.
